Jay's Philosophy

So what does Professional Entertainment for Kids actually mean? I have worked very hard at creating shows that kids love. They are high energy, lots of fun, and the kids really feel like they are a part of the show. My shows are designed for the age group as well. I have learned what works best with 4 year olds and what works best with 7 year olds and what 10 year olds prefer to see. I pride myself for being able to captivate the attention of 4 year olds for over 30 minutes. I don't try to play to the parents and other adults that are watching. Rather, they become kids themselves, and everybody has fun! Also professional entertainment for kids means that I don't encourage bad behavior. For example, putting balloons in your mouth. I use an air pump to inflate balloons, and I teach the kids to remind "other kids" that putting balloons in your mouth is a no-no. I also don't use fire in the show. I'm not personally opposed to fire magic; it is exciting to see something appear in a flash of fire. But sometimes kids try to be the magician after the show, and I don't want to be held accountable for the house burning down. I also don't use off-color jokes for the adults that go over the kids' heads. Kids are smart, and it's just not what I do.

Also, my "character" is very appealing to kids. Some beautifully costumed clown or your child's favorite costumed character seems like a great idea until they show up in middle of your living room. Some kids can be terrified when they come face to face with something so strange. I know; I used to dress as a clown. But now that I am "balloon man" the kids are never scared. I say that with the utmost confidence. I've done hundreds of shows, and the kids love me! Please understand that I am not trying to slam clowns or other characters. I even have a clown available for shows, the lovable PenelopePoodles. I am just speaking from my own personal experience. There are lots of great clowns and magicians in Atlanta. And some costumed characters probably wouldn't be scary such as a Princess or even a Spiderman. But for the sake of your party, keep the fear factor in mind.

I am not just a kid show entertainer simply because almost every adult that I encounter wants a balloon too! For adult shows, I usually perform close-up magic, using a deck of cards and such. But if you are looking for a unique great time for adults, you can't go wrong with the intricate balloon art I produce!
